(Rock Rapids)– A two-vehicle collision Thursday evening on Highway 9 in Lyon county sent one person to the hospital.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 64-year-old Rosalyn Kahl of Rock Rapids was westbound on Highway 9 and was attempting to turn left onto a county road when she was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 59-year-old Paul Bachman of Harrisburg, South Dakota.
Kahl was taken to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids. There was no immediate word on the extent of her injuries or condition. No injuries were reported to Bachman.
Extensive damage was reported to a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Bachman and to a 2006 Buick Rendevouz driven by Kahl.
The collision took place shortly after 6:30 p.m.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Rock Rapids Fire Department.
