(Emmetsburg)– A 32-year-old northwest Iowa man has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges in Palo Alto county.
James Pietrarosso is accused of strangling an Emmetsburg woman, sexually assaulting her and threatening her life. At the time of the alleged attack in November, Pietrarosso was out on bond after being arrested in a drug case.
Pietrarosso had been a fugitive for almost a month when he surrendered to law enforcement officials in December.
Online court records don’t list a trial date.
