(Ruthven)– The Superintendent of the Ruthven-Ayrshire School District resigned earlier this week, following a year of contention with the school board and public.
The board Tuesday evening accepted the resignation of Doctor Norene Bunt, effective June 30th.
Bunt had been Superintendent since July 1st, 2010. Last June, over 100 people attended a Ruthven-Ayrshire school board meeting upset over the number of staff members who left the district at the end of last school year. 18 staff members left…about half the district’s staff…with only a handful of high school teachers returning last fall.
The Ruthven-Ayrshire school board hasnt made any decisions yet on a replacement for Bunt. The board’s next meeting is set for March 12th.
