(Emmetsburg)– An Alvord man escaped injury Wednesday when a vehicle he was driving slid off an ice-covered road in Palo Alto county and wound up submerged in water.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says Garth Knobloch was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger northbound on Highway 4 south of Emmetsburg when he lost control on some snow and slush. The vehicle left the road and plunged into a waterway. Deputies say the vehicle was just about completely submerged and was totaled as a result.
The incident took place around 10:00 a.m.
