General CRP sign-up begins

Spirit Lake –

The Dickinson County Farm Service Agency has announced the General Conservation Reserve Program signup begins on March 12, 2012 and runs through April 6, 2012.

Larry Lago, the County Executive Director for the Dickinson FSA says the General sign-up differ from the continuous CRP in that it is more competitive, and adds that following the sign up, the USDA looks at the environmental benefit of each individual offer, and then will accept or reject them.
