Juveniles arrested in Storm Lake on theft charges

The Storm Lake Police are reporting a series of arrests connected to recent retail thefts and a residential burglary.

On Sunday afternoon, the Storm Lake PD took a report from Walmart officials regarding a number of thefts which occurred on March 8 from the Storm Lake Store. Police were told that a large group of juvenile males entered the store, and allegedly stole electronics, knives and soft drinks.

Police reviewed security tapes and were successful in identifying several suspects. Following an investigation, Police secured information that tied several of the juveniles to a residential burglary on Saturday. Sunday evening, officers conducted several searches, and recovered the items which were allegedly stolen from Walmart and the private residence.

Police arrested and charged nearly a dozen young men ages 13 to 15 in connection with the incident.
