(Emmetsburg)– A joint investigation by the Pocahontas and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Offices into stolen property complaints has landed a woman in jail on drug charges.
Authorities say information of probable stolen property resulted in them obtaining a search warrant Tuesday on a residence three and-a-half miles south of Ayrshire. While executing the warrant, officers came across items related to illegal drug activity. They then obtained a second search warrant for illegal controlled substances.
The searches resulted in authorities finding possible stolen property and suspected illegal controlled substances, including a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
44-year-old Kimberly Priester, who lists that address as her residence, was arrested on charges of second offense possession of a controlled substance…an aggravated misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor. Priester was booked into the Palo Alto county jail pending an initial appearance before a magistrate.
Authorities say additional arrests are expected as the case remains under investigation.
