(Des Moines)– Spirit Lake will be among locations in Iowa participating in a residential tree-planting program that promotes long-term energy and resource conservation.

“Operation ReLeaf” is a partnership funded by Alliant Energy and administered by the Iowa Department of Natural Resource’s Forestry Bureau with assistance from local partners, such as county conservation boards and extension offices.

Nearly 2,400 high quality landscaping trees will be offered this spring to Alliant Energy residential customers for just $25 each. They will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Operation Re-Leaf event for Spirit Lake is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Spirit Lake fire station.

There will be a limit of two trees per household.
