Iowans have joined a nationwide Mega Millions lotto frenzy, forking out more than one million dollars for tickets in tonight’s drawing for a record jackpot which is worth at least 540 million dollars.
The buying spree heating up after no one won the super prize in last Tuesday’s drawing.
Lottery outlets across the state expect brisk sales of the Mega Millions tickets today. The tickets may be purchased until 8:59 pm Iowa time for the multi-state drawing tonight. The odds of winning: one in 175 million.
