(Emmetsburg)– A weekend traffic stop in Palo Alto county resulted in drug charges against two people from West Bend.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says the stop was conducted Saturday when a deputy pulled over a 1987 Dodge Dakota. A subsequent investigation and search of the vehicle resulted in authorities finding what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
52-year-old Joseph Gagen was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
34-year-old Nicole Owens was also arrested. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gagen and Owens were booked into the Palo Alto county jail. They were later released pending future court appearances.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in its investigation by its K-9 Unit.
