Second Person Dies Of Injuries Sustained In Jackson County Motorcycle Crash

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– A second person has died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash this past weekend in Jackson county.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the motorcycle, 35-year-old Brian Engelkes of Sheldon, passed away early this (Wed.) morning at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

His wife, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, 39-year-old Michelle Engelkes, died Monday of injuries she sustained in the crash. She had also been hospitalized at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Authorities say Brian Engelkes was driving a Harley Davidson westbound on Jackson County Road 4 when he lost control. The motorcycle went into the north ditch and struck an embankment.

Deputies say the couple was ejected from the motorcycle, and that neither was wearing a helmet.
