Car Vs Motorcycle Collision On SW Side Of Big Spirit Injures Lakefield Man

(Orleans)– A car-motorcycle collision Sunday on the southwest side of Big Spirit Lake injured a Lakefield, Minnesota man.

The Spirit Lake Police Department says 44-year-old Marlin Olson of Lakefield was driving a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when a northbound 1992 Buick Regal driven by 18-year-old Tjaden Will of Fort Dodge turned left in front of Olson, resulting in a collision.

Olson was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no immediate word on the extent of his injuries or condition.

No injuries were reported to Will, who was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.

$8,000 in damage was estimated to the motorcycle driven by Olson; the car driven by Will sustained an estimated $6,000 in damage.

The collision took place shortly after 11:00 a.m.
