(Spencer)– The Spencer Aquatic Center will reopen to the public at 12:30 p.m. this coming Sunday, June 17th.
Officials with the Spencer YMCA, which operates the facility, say Micahel Rohan will always be in their hearts.
The Aquatic Center has been closed since last week when the 6-year-old Spencer boy was found floating in the pool. He was removed from the pool and was administered CPR by pool workers and EMT’s. Rohan was then taken to Spencer Hospitla and was later transferred by air to a Sioux Falls hospital where he passed away Sunday.
Becky LaBarre, Executive Director of the Spencer Family YMCA, says they hope reopening the Aquatic Center will help the community begin its healing process.
