Clay County Traffic Stop Results In Several Charges Against South Dakota Man

(Spencer)– A traffic stop this past Saturday in Spencer landed a South Dakota man in jail on drunk driving, child endangerment and speeding charges.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle around 2:30 a.m. in the area of 5th Street Southwest and Grand Avenue. Upon investigating authorities determined the driver, 36-year-old Brandon Cuppy of Tea, South Dakota was allegedly intoxicated. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered there were two children in the vehicle.

Cuppy was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of operating while intoxicated…first offense, speeding, and two counts of child endangerment.
