(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision late Monday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 9 and 155th Street, or the Methodist Camp Road on the west side of Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital.
Spirit Lake police say 27-year-old Melissa Lorenz of Milford was attempting to make a left-hand turn from 155th Street onto the highway when she turned into the path of a vehicle driven by 50-year-old Susan Nielsen of Milford.
Nielsen was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. No injuries were reported to Lorenz who was cited for failure to yield upon entering a highway and no insurance.
$10,000 in damage was estimated to a 2008 Pontiac driven by Lorenz and to a 2004 Hyundai Nielsen was driving.
The collision took place shortly after 4:30 p.m.
The Spirit Lake Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Dickinson County Emergency Management, the Spirit Lake First Responders and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance and paramedics.
