Man Wanted On Warrant Now Faces Drug, Weapons Charges In Palo Alto County

(Ruthven)– A Fort Dodge man wanted originally on a warrant out of Pocahontas county for contempt of court has been arrested and now faces additional charges out of Palo Alto county.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says it received information shortly after 9:00 p.m. Monday that 29-year-old Dennis Brown of Fort Dodge was wanted on a warrant and was seen walking in the Ruthven area. Deputies located Brown a short time later in the 3600 block of Highway 18. He was arrested on the Pocahontas county warrant charging him with contempt of court.

Following his arrest and based on an investigation, deputies charged Brown with carrying a loaded firearm without a permit…an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of prescription drugs without a prescription…a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor.

Brown was booked into the Palo Alto county jail pending an initial court appearance.
