Semi Rollover Injures Everly Man

November 22, 2014

(Sheldon)– A semi rollover Thursday in O’Brien county sent the rig’s driver to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says 42-year-old Michael Thiel of Everly was driving a semi tractor pulling a tractor loaded with hog feed westbound on Highway 18 and was attempting to make a right turn when he lost control. The semi came to rest on its side, partially spilling the load of hog feed in the ditch.

Thiel was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Sheldon with head injuries.

The semi, owned by the Farmer’s Co-op of Farnhamville, Iowa, sustained an estimated $25,000 in damage.

The incident took place shortly before noon Thursday.

Thiel was cited for failure to maintain control.
