(Arnolds Park)– Officials say for now atleast they are treating an incident late Wednesday night on East Lake Okoboji as unfounded.
Dickinson County Sheriff Greg Baloun says authorities received a report shortly before midnight of some occupants in a boat near the Ritz that had jumped into the lake to cool off. They then got back on the boat and headed for Pelican Ridge. Once there, some on board thought a person may have been missing. Baloun says all had been drinking and there were conflicting stories as to exactly who was on the boat and what had actually taken place. A search was conducted initially following the report but was later suspended due to the conflicting information.
Baloun says authorities are conducting additional interviews to try to see if they can get collaborating stories.
Baloun says no one has been reported missing in the area and that as of early this (Thurs.) afternoon they were not actively searching for anyone.
