(Spirit Lake)– A single-vehicle crash Friday on Dickinson County Road M-56 east of Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Sarah Egan of Spirit Lake was driving a 1997 Chrysler northbound when she lost control while rounding a curve at 160th Street. The vehicle slid into the ditch on the north side of the roadway, coming to rest over a waterway.
Egan was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.
$3,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
The Spirit Lake Fire Department was called to the scene as a precaution as the vehicle was leaking fuel. Others assisting on the scene included the Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics, Spirit Lake First Responders and Jennings Tow and Repair.
The crash took place shortly before 10:30 a.m.
