(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Saturday at the intersection of Clay County Road M-50 and Highway 18 resulted in minor injuries and citations against the drivers.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 72-year-old Larry Ohden of Laurens was driving a 2004 Pontiac northbound and had stopped at the intersection. Deputies say he then pulled into the path of a 1992 Chevrolet pickup driven by 26-year-old Jose Torres of St. James, Minnesota who was westbound on Highway 18.
Ohden and a passenger in the pickup, Jose Lopez, were transported to Spencer Hospital. No injuries were reported to Torres.
Ohden was cited for failure to yield and Torres was cited for failure to prove liability insurance.
$6,000 in damage was estimated to the Pontiac Sunfire driven by Ohden; the 1992 Chevrolet pickup Torres was driving sustained an estimated $3,500 damage.
The collision took place around 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
