Motorcycle Mishap Results In Minor Injuries; Drug Charge

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)—Minor injuries were reported to two people riding a motorcycle that nearly collided with a deer yesterday (Sun.) in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Tony Eddy of Rockwell City was driving a 2003 Yamaha in the 2600 mile of County Road B-24 when he took evasive action to avoid colliding with a deer.

Eddy and a passenger, 19-year-old Taylor Tackett of Jolley, were taken to Spencer Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.

Upon investigating, deputies found what’s alleged to be marijuana at the crash scene. Tackett was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

$2,000 in damage was estimated to the motorcycle.

The incident took place shortly after 9:00 a.m.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spencer Hospital ambulance and paramedics and Dickens Fire and Rescue.
