Palo Alto County Crash Sends Two People To Hospital

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)—A single-vehicle crash Friday on 390th Street in Palo Alto county sent two people to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says 46-year-old Stephen Allis of Ayrshire was driving a 2002 Chevrolet pickup westbound when one set of wheels dropped off the roadway. Authorities say Allis over-corrected causing the pickup to skid across the roadway. It went into the north ditch and rolled, coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Authorities say Allis, who had to be extricated from the vehicle, along with a passenger, 51-year-old Vicki Allis of Ayrshire, were both taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg where they were treated for non-incapacitating injuries.

Stephen Allis was cited for failure to maintain control, open container as a driver and failure to wear or maintain seatbelts.

The crash took place around 10:15 p.m. Friday.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, the Emmetsburg Fire Department and the Palo Alto County Ambulance.
