(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council Tuesday approved the submission of a grant application through the state’s Economic Development Set-a-Side program to assist in the planned 80,000 square foot expansion of the Polaris Industries plant. It calls for the city to provide a 7-year tax abatement valued at $900,000 based on the value of the expansion, along with a $40,000 cash contribution to match the state’s share.

Meanwhile, a major milestone was reached Tuesday at the Spirit Lake Polaris Industries plant. Hines says the one millionth item rolled off the assembly line…(click here for comment from Hines.)
Regarding the planned expansion, Hines says it would create an additional 80 or so jobs at the Spirit Lake plant over 36 months.
