(Lake Park)– A single-vehicle crash Monday just northwest of Lake Park injured a teen.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 16-year-old Javier Tapia of Harris was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Prism westbound on 130th Street when he swerved to avoid an animal, causing him to lose control. The vehicle went into the south ditch and rolled.
Tapia was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with incapacitating injuries.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
The crash took place shortly after 5:30 p.m.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Lake Park Fire and Rescue, Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and Jennings Tow and Repair.
