(Okoboji)– Officials with the Dickinson County Conservation Board say they’re pleased with the turnout and input that was gained during two public stakeholder meetings held last month in Milford and Okoboji.
Richard Leopold, Executive Director of the Dickinson County Conservation Board, says citizen committees are now being established to further explore two proposals that came up frequently: one is for a dog park; the other is for a disc golf course.
The disc golf course committee will meet at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 15th; the dog park committee will meet the next evening, Tuesday, October 16th, also at 7:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Dickinson County Nature Center just northwest of Okoboji.
Leopold says the goal of the meetings is to come up with a solid plan of action including location, initial capital costs, ongoing operations, maintenance costs, policies and so on.
