(Okoboji)– A popular lakes area restaurant temporarily closed by a minor fire will re-open its doors this weekend. Tweeters in Okoboji will once again be open for business at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 29th).
Owner Kae Hoppe says last Sunday’s fire was very minor, but it was enough to kick in an automatic extinguisher system that caused a flame retardant gel to spray throughout most of the kitchen. She says it happened when some oil in a pan overheated.
Hoppe adds the establishment has since been thoroughly cleaned by a professional service and that they’re ready to re-open to the public.
