(Spirit Lake)– A man wanted on drug charges led Spirit Lake police on a short foot pursuit early Friday afternoon.
Police say officers made contact with 24-year-old Jeffrey Krowiorz, who managed to flee from them on foot. Krowiorz was apprehended a short time later.
During an investigation, officers located approximately 24 grams of what’s alleged to be methamphetamine along with a drug pipe. Krowiorz was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver-methamphetamine…a class “B” felony; failure to affix a drug tax stamp…a class “D” felony; along with possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts…both simple misdemeanors.
A news release issued by the department doesn’t say Krowriorz is from.
The incident took place shortly before 1:00 p.m.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
