(Spencer)– A traffic stop last Thursday in Clay county landed a Sioux City resident in jail on drug charges.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy made the stop around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 18. Authorities say the deputy could smell marijuana and alcohol. A field test indicated the driver, 34-year-old Jacklynn Gregg, was allegedly under the influence of marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The deputy attempted to test for the presence of alcohol in Gregg’s system, but Gregg refused.
Gregg was arrested and booked into the Clay county jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance…marijuana and operating while intoxicated…both serious misdemeanors; failure to have a valid driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia…both simple misdemeanors; and possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…second offense…an aggravated misdemeanor.
