(Des Moines)– Governor Terry Branstad has ordered flags be flown at half staff Thursday, November 15th to honor Pfc. 19-year-old Brandon Buttry of Shenandoah who died November 5th while serving in Afghanistan in the U.S. Army.
Flags will be flown at half staff Thursday (Nov. 15th) from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The directive applies to flag displays at all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
