(Spencer)– Spencer police say additional charges may be pending now that the victim involved in an altercation back in September has died of injuries sustained in the incident.
Police say Chase Foote of Dickens was initially arrested in connection the September 1st incident on a charge of willful injury.
The victim, Jefferson Wilbur, sustained a serious head injury in the incident and was life-flighted to a Sioux Falls hospital, where he passed away Sunday.
Foote posted bond on the original charge and was released from jail last month.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges may be filed by the County Attorney’s Office pending the outcome of autopsy results.
