(Des Moines)—A University of Iowa student who’s from Spirit Lake has been appointed by Governor Terry Branstad as a student member to the state Board of Regents.

20-year-old Hannah Walsh’s term begins today (Fri.) and will run until April 30th, 2015. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
