U Of I Student From Spirit Lake Appointed As Student Rep To Board Of Regents

(Des Moines)—A University of Iowa student who’s from Spirit Lake has been appointed by Governor Terry Branstad as a student member to the state Board of Regents.

20-year-old Hannah Walsh’s term begins today (Fri.) and will run until April 30^th, 2015. Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.

She is majoring in political science and has served previously as a page in the Iowa Senate and serves as co-chair of the University of Iowa Governmental Relations Committee.

The seat was left vacant as the young woman who previously held it is no longer a student at a regent university.
