Traffic Stop Lands Emmetsburg Man In Jail

(Spencer)—An Emmetsburg man faces drug charges following a traffic stop shortly after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 18 in Clay county.

Upon investigating, a Clay county deputy discovered the driver, 54-year-old Brad Burginger of Emmetsburg, had a suspended driver’s license. Burginger was then placed under arrest. Upon conducting a pat down of Burginger, the deputy turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana. A search of the vehicle turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Burginger was charged with driving under suspension, possession of a controlled substance…marijuana, failure to wear a seatbelt, no proof of insurance, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Clay county jail.
