(Spirit Lake)– It’s back to the drawing board for a proposed ordinance that would regulate the operation of all terrain and off road vehicles on city streets in Spirit Lake.
The city council Tuesday scrapped the second reading of the proposed ordinance after hearing concern from Brad Price, a Spirit Lake businessman, over the lack of highway crossings that would be allowed…(click here for comment.) “If you put too much regulation into this ordinance, it’s bound to fail. It’s set up to fail. And if that’s what you want, it’s going to fail. And by regulation what I’m saying is that you’re limiting us to two accesses across the highway. Period.”
The council then opted to scrap the second reading and agreed to send the measure back for further study.
