(Des Moines)—Some local utilities and utility workers will receive special recognition for the assistance they provided east coast residents following Super Storm Sandy.
The Iowa Utilities Board, Governor Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, along with Iowa Utilities Board Chair Libby Jacobs, will address the utilities and workers during a recognition ceremony scheduled for Noon Monday at the Iowa Capitol rotunda.
Utilities from our area being recognized include Alliant/Interstate Power and Light Company, MidAmerican Energy, contractors of ITC Midwest, Aurelia Municipal Electric, and Lake Park Municipal Utilities.
