Lyon County Collision Results In Minor Injuries

(Rock Rapids)– Minor injuries were reported Thursday evening in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 75 and a county road in Lyon county.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Sherry Baker of Rock Rapids was southbound on Highway 75 when she collided with the rear of another southbound vehicle driven by 27-year-old Travis VanVehldhuizen of Rock Rapids who had slowed to make a left turn.

VanVeldhuizen sustained minor injuries but didn’t seek immediate treatment. No injuries were reported to Baker.

$2,000 in damage was estimated to a 1996 Isuzu pickup driven by VanVeldhuizen; an estimate of damage to a 2006 Chrysler driven by Baker wasn’t available.

The collision took place shortly after 6:00 p.m.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Rapids Fire Department and the Lyon county ambulance and paramedics.
