Traffic Stop And Search Of Lake Park Residence Results In Arrests Of Two Men On Drug Charges

(Lake Park)– The execution of a search warrant Friday on a residence in Lake Park resulted in the arrests of two men on drug charges.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says the search, conducted at a residence in the 100 block of Lake Avenue, turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

37-year-old Joshua Boughton and 28-year-old Sam Svihl, both of Lake Park, were arrested and booked into jail.

Boughton was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…and possession of drug paraphernalia. Svihl was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The search was associated with a traffic stop in Spirit Lake that took place around 4:30 p.m. Friday in the parking lot at the Kum ‘n Go. Authorities say Boughton was driving on suspended driver’s license and that a search of the vehicle turned up what’s believed to be crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, numerous prescription pills and $1,196 in cash which was seized.

Boughton was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine; prohibited acts, posession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a prescription drug or device, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.

Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Lake Park Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
