I90 Crash Injures Ringsted Woman

November 22, 2014

(Jackson, Mn.)– A single-vehicle crash Sunday on Interstate 90 in Jackson county injured a Ringsted woman.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 41-year-old Patti Follmuth of Ringsted was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta westbound just west of Jackson and was going down a hill when she lost control on the ice and slush covered road. The vehicle skidded off the road and went into the ditch where it struck a fence and went down a steep embankment, coming to rest on ice on the Des Moines River.

Follmuth was taken to the Jackson Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries.

A damage estimate to the vehicle wasn’t immediately available.

The crash took place shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
