Clay County Pickup Crash Results In Possible Injuries To Driver

(Spencer)—Possible injuries were reported in a single-vehicle rollover yesterday (Mon.) in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old James Lau of Spencer was driving a 2011 Ford Ranger northbound on 165th Avenue. Deputies say Lau attempted to stop for a stop sign was traveling too fast for the icy conditions, causing him to lose control. The pickup spun 90 degrees, went into the north ditch at the t-intersection and rolled, coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Lau was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.

Damage to the pickup was estimated at $5,000.

The crash took place shortly before 7:00 a.m.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer ambulance and paramedics and Everly Fire and Rescue.

Authorities say charges are pending.
