Southern Minnesota Crash Claims Life Of Child

(Fairmont, Mn.)—A single-vehicle crash yesterday (Sun.) on Highway 4 south of Sherburn claimed the life of a child.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 26-year-old Alicia Tapia of Fairmont was driving a 1996 Jeep wagon which left the road and rolled. Tapia was seriously injured and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.  Two passengers, four-year-old Tejan Tapia and nine-year-old Yesania Tapia, were both taken to the Fairmont Hospital. Another passenger, six-year-old Amonte King, was pronounced dead at a Fairmont hospital.

The vehicle was totaled.

The crash took place shortly after 8:00 a.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
