Rise Ministries, the organization behind Risefest, has announced the addition of reality t.v. star Jep Robertson from the hit show “Duck Dynasty” at the festival scheduled for mid-June in Sheldon. Founder and President Bob Rozenboom says the festival is excited the star has agreed to participate. “For the first time in our festival’s history we have been able to partner with a reality t.v. show. We were watching the show one night, my wife was watching it, started doing a little research on line. She’s like hey, I think you should invite those guys. I’m like what? Alright honey, I’ll look into it. So we started the process way back in November and just said we have this festival, we’d love to have one of you Duck Dynasty guys come out and share a story, things like that. So we have been able to lock that in and make that announcment. We’re very very excited about it.”
Rosenboom adds that the festival is expanding to include camping this year. “We’ll be launching camping on Friday, so on Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. on you have to buy your spot in advance, but you can pull your campers in or set up tents. And we’ll have a little dance party, there’s hopefully going to be a citywide movie, there’s going to be a sand volleyball court in the camping area.”
He notes that several faith-based bands are on the lineup…“Mandeza, Matthew West, Matthew West is another artist that we’ve been very excited about getting.”
