Storm Lake Police Arrest Laurens Woman Wanted On Emmet County Warrant

November 22, 2014

(Storm Lake)– Storm Lake police arrested a Laurens woman Sunday night after being called to the Storm Lake Wal-Mart to assist her after she locked her keys in her car.

Officers allege the woman gave police a false name. Police eventually identified the woman as 35-year-old Sandra Nelson of Laurens and determined she was wanted by Emmet county for contempt of court on a forgery charge. Police also learned Nelson had been banned from the Wal-Mart property for previous theft incidents.

Nelson was arrested on the Emmet county warrant, and was charged with interference with official acts and criminal trespass, both simple misdemeanors…and tampering with records, an aggravated misdemeanor. She was jailed on a 44-hundred dollar bond.
