(Estherville)—Funeral arrangements have been set for a local soldier killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.
Staff Sergeant Steven Blass of Estherville died March 11th in a helicopter crash in the southern part of the country. He was one of five soldiers killed in the blast, which military officials say was weather-related.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. this coming Tuesday, March 26th at the Estherville High School gym. Burial will be at Northlawn Cemetery in Spencer. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Estherville High School gym.
The Henry-Olson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
