(Jackson, Mn.)—Jackson, Minnesota-based Federated Rural Electric has received another special award for its economic development efforts.
The 2013 “Silver Switch Award” was presented to representatives of the utility at the Rural Electricity Resource Council’s national conference held March 20th in Louisville, Kentucky.
Federated REA was selected for its efforts in assisting AGCO’s expansion of its operations in Jackson by securing a $740,000 loan through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development agency. The project brought 200 new jobs to Jackson and retained existing ones.
