(Milford)—The search for a new Principal at Okoboji Elementary School is entering the home stretch. Superintendent Gary Janssen says the field of candidates has been narrowed to four. He says interviews will be held April 2nd and 3rd…(click here for comment.) “We’re happy that the four candidates we’re interviewing have elementary teaching experience which is critical. And then also have some elementary administration experience, so they’re current principals. We’re just happy that we have four quality candidates to interview.”
Janssen says the interview process is being open to as many people in the school and community as possible…(click here for comment.) “The candidates will interview with the school board and the administrative team, and then a committee of seven teachers and then we have parent volunteers helping with providing tours of the building to the candidates. So we think it’s a good process where we have a lot of people involved and a lot of people providing input and the board and I discuss the strengths of the candidates and then after April 3 after the last interview is over we can make a decision on which candidate is a best fit for the district.”
Janssen says 22 people…19 of them from Iowa…applied for the position.
