(Spencer)—The Spencer Chamber of Commerce will hold an event this coming Wednesday to promote a new initiative being developed Iowa State University. The “Iowa Retail Initiative” will be introduced by Ron Prescott, ISU Extension and Outreach Small Business and Retail Specialist Wednesday, April 10th from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Legends Event Center in Spencer.
Spencer was selected as one of the first pilot communities for the “Iowa Retail Initiative”.
The Fiscal Year 2012 Spencer and Clay county ISU Retail Trade Analysis will also be released at the April 10th event. The analysis provides a summary of trends in the retail area and will detail how Spencer and Clay county compare with other retail markets.
Social media as it relates to retail will also be a topic of discussion.
A free lunch will also be served.
