Report Of Pot Smell Coming From Apartment Results In Charges Against Three Men

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)—An investigation into a smell of marijuana coming from an apartment has resulted in the arrest of an Estherville man and citations being issued against two others.

Estherville police say officers were called to 204 South 13th Street apartment 5 Tuesday. Upon arriving officers reported a strong odor of marijuana. Contact was made with several men who were in the apartment at the time.

The owner of the apartment wasn’t home at the time, but gave officers permission to search the premises. It resulted in them finding a small baggy substance with what was believed to be marijuana, along with numerous small alcohol containers.

19-year-old Joseph Brashear was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana. He was booked into the Emmet county jail pending an initial court appearance.

18-year-old Joseph Clayton and 19-year-old Casey Origer were cited for underage possession of alcohol.
