Sibley Collision Sends Two People To Hospital

(Sibley)—A two-vehicle collision Friday in Sibley sent two people to the hospital with possible injuries.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Jerry Wilson of Paton, Iowa was driving a 2001 Buick northbound on Pierce Avenue and had stopped at the intersection of 170th Street. Authorities say 32-year-old Mayra Vasquez of Worthington was driving a 2005 Ford westbound on 170th Street when the two collided in the intersection.

Vasquez and a juvenile passenger were taken to the Osceola Community Hospital with possible injuries. No injuries were reported to Wilson.

Damage to the vehicle driven by Vasquez was estimated at $4,000 while the one driven by Wilson sustained an estimated $2,500 damage.

The collision took place around 5:00 p.m.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Sibley Fire and Rescue.
