(Estherville)—An investigation into a complaint landed an Estherville man in jail on drug, sex abuse and alcohol charges.
Estherville police say they received the complaint Sunday from a female stating that she had been sexually assaulted at a residence in Estherville. Upon further investigation, police learned of alleged illegal drug activity and alcohol being served to persons underage at the same residence.
Police then obtained and executed a search warrant on the residence Monday. It resulted in them finding what’s alleged to be drug paraphernalia.
35-year-old Shane Trompeter of Estherville was arrested and charged with one count of sexual abuse in the 3rd degree; a class “C” felony; two counts of providing alcohol to a person under 21…both simple misdemeanors; and one count of possession of drug
paraphernalia.
