(Rock Rapids)—Possible injuries were reported in a single vehicle crash early Friday in Lyon county.
Authorities say 20-year-old Haley Heusinkveld of Sheldon was driving a 2008 Pontiact Grand Prix westbound on County Road A-46 and was talking to a passenger. Deputies say Heusinkveld became distracted and didn’t see a stop sign. Heusinkveld traveled through the stop sign where the paved road turned to gravel. The vehicle then slid into the north ditch where it flipped onto its top.
Heusinkveld and an unidentified passenger both sustained possible injuries.
About $8,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle.
Heusinkveld was cited for failure to maintain control.
The crash took place around 12:15 a.m.
