Okoboji Foundation Hones In On Goal

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)—The Okoboji Foundation is honing in on a $3 million goal which would make $250,000 available each year for various capital projects in the lakes area.

Mary Freiborg of the Okoboji Foundation says as of Friday, they had raised about half of the goal. She says fundraising will continue throughout 2013 with special incentives for donors to give before June 29th. That includes complimentary passes to the Foundation’s 25th anniversary celebration at Boji Bay Pavilion. Anyone making a $1,000 contribution will receive two complimentary passes; anyone contributing $5,000 will receive four complimentary passes and will be entitled to become a voting member for grant awards. Larger gifts can be paid over five years.

The Foundation will be holding a “Coffee and Conversation” event this Thursday, June 20th, at 9:30 a.m. in the Hedberg Theatre at the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum building in Arnolds Park. Freiborg says those attending the event will be able to visit with foundation representatives and discuss capital projects you would like to see accomplished. Those planning to attend Thursday’s event should RSVP by calling 332-7177.
